She held a number of positions in the OPS, including 8 years in Criminal Investigations with vulnerable victims. As Deputy Chief she led transformational change throughout OPS to improve service and efficiencies. She implemented its Elder Abuse Unit, Major Case Management, and Sex Offender Registry and was the driving force behind the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Victims of Crime Committee.

In 2017 she was awarded membership in Canada’s Order of Merit of the Police Forces for her exceptional leadership and contributions to policing and community service.

Since retiring, she has served on community boards and is currently operating the Ottawa office of Investigative Solutions

Her presentation will highlight the importance of self-care, humor, and mentorship and she will share insights she has gleaned during her transition to the retirement phase of her life.
