Guest Speaker: Irene Barbeau, .one of the original alumni of the Shingwauk Children of Survivors Association. The Association has been working for forty years to bring attention to the Residential Schools situation and the need for the truth and the way to reconciliation. (Hybrid meeting)

Speakers: Cheryl Straby and Cathy Hay two of Perth`s talented women designers. Cheryl Straby, Fashion designer and owner of Streve has been designing and making wearable art for 34 years. Cathy Hay, Interior Designer and owner of Hay Design Furnishings and Decor opened her store on Gore St in 2015. (Hybrid meeting)

Panel Discussion: The Opioid Public Health Emergency. Guests include Amber Fritz, a registered social service worker in the Greater Sudbury region with experience advocating for those struggling with substance abuse and mental health challenges, David Somppi, Chair of Planet Youth Lanark County and Chair, Carleton Place Municipal Drug Strategy and Mark Barners, a Perth pharmacist and advocate for respectful approaches to addiction and mental health. (Hybrid meeting)

Speaker: David Seburn, Freshwater Turtle Specialist with the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
Topic: Turtles are one of the most endangered groups of species in Canada. Turtles face many threats including the loss of wet lands, road mortality, and high rates of nest predation. Find out which species of turtles we have in eastern Ontario, why turtles are so at risk, what the Canadian Wildlife Federation is doing for turtle conservation, and how everyone can help the turtles. Speaker: Michael Cohen, CEO and President of Perth and Smiths Falls District
Hospital (PSFDH) and Margot Hallam, Executive Director, PSFDH Foundation
Topic: The hospital’s vision and strategic plan, what services are available and the personalized approach taken in delivering these services. We will also learn
about some of the major projects and purchases that have been funded by the Foundation and how it works together with the community to raise and steward funds for projects and services for health care at the PSHDH. (Hybrid meeting)

June 20, 2022, AGM & Education Awards
Pot luck snacks and celebrations as CFUW hands out it's annual Education Awards to selected successful candidates, on hand with their families to receive the recognition of their hard work through high school and post-secondary level education. Our AGM follows.
Meetings begin at 7 p.m. In person meetings are held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 26 Beckwith Street East, Perth. Meetings are also provided via ZOOM.
