About The Event
Over the past fifty years, boys and young men have steadily disengaged from school, work, and broader society. They're falling behind academically, struggling with loneliness and isolation, and facing rising rates of substance abuse and suicide. Gone Guys is a documentary film that explores a "quiet crisis" in our communities, hidden in plain sight: the increasing disengagement and isolation of boys and young men. The film illuminates and proposes some solutions to help this situation. It's not an either-or choice: caring more about boys and men does not mean caring less about women and girls. It is a matter of seeing, caring and working towards a world that values all, and promotes this with concrete action. The Gone Guys film is being presented to bring awareness and solutions for these issues.
