Speaker Program
CFUW Perth & District meets the 3rd Monday of the month, from September to June. These meetings include guest speakers, covering topics that are diverse, current, educational and thought-provoking — plus they are open to the public!
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for a meet and greet social, with the program to start at 6:45 p.m. In person meetings are held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 26 Beckwith Street East, Perth. Some meetings are also provided via ZOOM.

Open House
​
Attend the Open House meeting to learn more about CFUW Perth and District by talking to executive members and interest group leaders. There is an incredible wealth of knowledge and skills within the club. This is an evening for the public to learn about us, for newer members who want to learn more about our club and for long-time members to catch up with their CFUW sisters and perhaps, bring a friend.

Welcome Back Potluck & General Meeting​
If you’re a member of CFUW Perth & District, please join us for our General Meeting after the Potluck. It takes everyone’s input to run our great club!

Our 1st regular meeting of the year is Monday, September 15, in person only at the Royal Canadian Legion. We look forward to welcoming all returning and new members. Catch up with old friends and stop by the Membership table to pay your dues, which remain at $90.

Fireside Chat with The Honourable Lloyd Axworthy

CFUW Perth & District is honoured to present an evening with distinguished parliamentarian, global activist, and academic the Honourable Lloyd Axworthy. Join us for a fireside chat between Dr. Axworthy and humanitarian, diplomat and University of Toronto professor Rosemary McCarney.
When: Monday, October 20th,

Free admission is open to all.
Dr. Axworthy will sign copies of his 2024 autobiography, Lloyd Axworthy: My Life in Politics and those interested in copies should email The Book Nook by Monday, October 6th to order a copy.

General Meeting: Addressing Food Insecurity
CFUW Social Justice Committee will host a special guest speaker from the newly formed Southeast Health Unit, which now includes the former Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit. The focus of the presentation will be on food insecurity, a critical issue facing many in our community. Poverty continues to have a significant impact on food insecurity, making this topic especially relevant.
This event builds on previous committee research, including the "Poverty Report," which highlighted poverty issues in Perth and Lanark County such as homelessness, affordable housing, basic income, and food insecurity.
Expert Insights and Local Data
Dana Douglas, a Registered Dietitian and Public Health Nutritionist, will present the latest local information on food insecurity. Dana will be available to answer questions not only about our community, but also about broader district trends, providing valuable insights for all attendees.
