CFUW Joins Candlelight Vigil Remembering Gender-Based Victims of Violence

Several members of CFUW women attended the vigil held on December 6th to remember and honour the 14 young women murdered in Montreal on that day in 1989 at the Ecole Polytechnique.

The vigil was led by Erin Lee, Executive Director of Lanark County Interval House and Community Support. Erin encouraged everyone present to call out and speak up against acts of gender-based violence. Rural Ontario is not immune to this this type of violence and the vigil was also to pay tribute to local women who have died by femicide and to all the women who navigate violence every day.
